The world of design is open to the introduction of a new way to conceive and realize furniture. The artistic handicraft of cabinetmaking and a new philosophy of life and work merge to create a new line with rare uniqueness and original aesthetics: the Era collection.
The pieces of furniture of this collection are born of projects that put together a very free conception, an almost visionary creativity (suggested by an artist, Grazia Azzali, who is interpreter of the exploration of the dream world), an upgrade on the modernity of styles and computerized industrial processes. At the very basis of this concept, there are knowledge and professional skill concerning the emphatic approach to the material – the wood – during the manufacture, whose aim is to underline the expressive and decorative potentialities of the material and the artisan themselves. The collection only contains unique and numbered pieces which are the result of interventions with numberless handmade finishings.
The first piece of this collection, which is going to appear soon, is realized with hardwood (French ash), both internally and externally carved and its surfaces are veined by pigments which come from natural soils and oils. The name Serafino (Seraphim) comes from the hierarchies of angels and his stylized form is carved on the shutters according to a new style, between Deco and Postmodern, but characterized by an “auroral vitality”. Other creations of the collection draw from the world of art, poetry and music as, for example, the piece of furniture Kouros which reproduces the proportional harmony of the human body inspired by the archaic Greek aestetics. In the end the cupboard Musicale, with the musical notes from the Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, connected to An die Freude/Ode to Joy by Schiller, recall the processes of the conceptual art, which combines images of significants belonging to different fields and linguistic contexts as words, plastic forms and notes of the musical Rigo.
These pieces of art are a heterogeneous set of creative and artistic inspiration, technical and handmade knowledge, sensitivity and strict cognitive studies of the natural and technological environment, of the inner self and of the most extrovert and modern world.
